The Awards are supported by donations from the Eagle River Area Rotary and the Chugiak-Eagle River Foundation. Each of the twelve public Chugiak and Eagle River school principals select an individual whom they believe deserves public recognition for a year of outstanding work in education. The awards are a visible symbol of our organizations’ support for the education community and the difficult work that they do. These annual recognitions also serve to demonstrate the merits of partnerships between business, community and schools. Awards dinner is open to the public.
During the dinner, ASD Superintendent, School Board Members and Chamber Staff present the award and gifts to the recipient and read their many accolades as written by the school's Principal and teachers. The Annual Dinner is special to our community as only the ASD schools located in Chugiak-Eagle River participate, making the ceremony both meaningful and intimate.
